Alternative-pop singer/songwriter, Jennifer Hall, has premiered her brand new single/video, “In The Water”, exclusively today via Midwest Action.
“‘In The Water’ is about the desire and need to reconnect with the world—an emotional awakening of sorts, after being ‘asleep’ to so much for so long,” says Hall. “It’s about being present and emotionally showing up.” The corresponding choreographed visual was directed by Max Moore and Alec Basse, who’ve previously worked with artists such as Post Animal, Twin Peaks and Laura Jane Grace among others. “The video represents an inner struggle,” elaborates Hall. “When you’re trying to push yourself to change, but you want to change and progress faster than you actually are.” The long-awaited single will be available for streaming/purchase on all digital platforms tomorrow, 10/11. Developing musical roots from Chicago, IL, Jennifer Hall has created a gripping performance, with an unmatched passion and vulnerability to her music. Drawing comparisons to the likes of Sia, Florence + The Machine and Alice Merton, Hall identifies as a vocal powerhouse, while integrating her soulful stylings into a mix of experimental production.
Since the release of her self-titled EP, featuring tracks such as “Make It Out Alive” and “Waking Hour”, and the completion of several US tours, Jennifer leaned into a quiet period of hibernation to rebalance and reflect. Poised to close out 2019 on a high, Hall’s new single delivers her signature soaring vocals and unbridled passion.
