Just days ahead of the release of her new album, III, BANKS shared the haunting track “Contaminated.”
Zane Lowe debuted the song earlier today as a World First on Apple Music’s Beats 1. BANKS recorded “Contaminated” in Los Angeles, collaborating with producer BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Francis and the Lights). Download / stream “Contaminated” HERE.
“‘Contaminated’ is about being addicted to a toxic relationship. The more you give, the less of yourself you become,” says BANKS.
Harvest Records will release III on Friday, July 12. Tomorrow night, BANKS will preview material from the album during her sold-out show at House of Vans Chicago. The evening is the latest in the Vans House Parties series, which offers the headlining artist the opportunity to act as curator, hand-picking all supporting talent and creating a personalized visual art experience for fans.
BANKS will support III with an extensive world tour. Her two-night stand at Brooklyn Steel has already sold out and a third night (September 10) has been added. Other newly-added dates include SOMA in San Diego (October 2) and shows at House of Blues in Dallas (October 9) and Houston (October 10). The III Tour kicks off on September 3 at REBEL in Toronto and includes an October 1 show at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
Tickets are on sale at LiveNation.com. BANKS will offer VIP packages for each show with options that include GA tickets with priority access, Meet & Greet, limited edition merchandise, and more. “Gimme” has already amassed over 11.5 million streams and was hailed by TIME Magazine as a song “You Need to Listen to.” Reviewing the official video, Rolling Stone noted, “Banks creates an otherworldly club, where laser lights bend to her movement and will, slinky synth melodies flavor the moody setting and mesmerizing choreography beckons onlookers to join…the primal dance party.”
“Look What You’re Doing To Me” has racked up over two million combined global streams to date and was featured on Spotify New Music Friday playlists in nearly every country. Billboard praised her “soaring, romantic vocals.” Substream observed, “Her powerhouse vocals sell each and every twist and turn as she processes all of the feelings flowing through her heart…If this is what the rest of III looks like, we’re in for a treat.”
BANKS has attained 1.3 billion global streams to date across all of her songs, including over 615 million cumulative streams in the U.S. alone. After the release of her breakout debut album, Goddess, she became the world’s most blogged about artist.
The 2014 album included the RIAA-certified Platinum hit “Beggin For Thread” and the Gold single “Waiting Game.” The Altar, released in 2016, debuted in the Top 10 in over 30 countries on iTunes.
