Texas-based singer/songwriter/producer duo, Surfaces, continues to warm hearts and spread positive vibes during these cold winter months with the official video for “Bloom” out today. The video was animated by the production studio Showoff – the same team that brought Childish Gambino’s “Feels Like Summer” to life. Throughout 2019, Forrest and Colin of Surfaces have unveiled a series of songs that celebrate summer feelings and a “don’t worry, be happy” attitude. “Bloom” is a reminiscent track on past summer days with a crush by your side. Fans can stream/purchase “Bloom” HERE and watch the video HERE.
“With the ‘Bloom’ video, we wanted to capture a modern love story that would encapsulate all the colors the song makes you feel,” says Surfaces. “Through collective brainstorming with the production studio, Showoff, we were able to ensure the video was always aligned with our vision and captured that ultimate happy nostalgic ending. We’re so happy with how the video turned out and are so excited to be sharing it with our fans!”
“Bloom” follows the band’s previous releases of “Good Day,” and “Keep It Gold” which are set to appear on the duo’s forthcoming album out early 2020. Surfaces has hit over 150 million global streams to date and currently has sync deals with NFL Sundays, HBO, FOX Sports, MLB Network and more. Recently, the duo added additional winter and holiday-themed merch items to their store to keep even those living in the coldest towns feeling warm and toasty like it’s July by the beach. The new merch can be found here.
Sunny days. Ocean breezes. Sandy shores. Leafy palm trees. Fresh jazzy sounds spiked with pop, reggae, hip-hop, soul, calypso, even some street-corner swing, all in the name of positive vibes and lighthearted fun. Through the medley of all these musical influences, Colin Padalecki and Forrest Frank’s originality truly shines through. Forrest works on the production, co-writing and vocals, while Colin focuses on the co-writing and arranging of their sound. With this partnership, the pair have increasingly meshed their individual talents into one impressive whole.
So far, Colin and Forrest have managed to maintain complete creative control over Surfaces, even down to Colin designing the group’s distinctive geometric, pastel album covers, a product of DIY ingenuity, using the Keynote program, a free version of Apple’s PowerPoint.
Keep up-to-date with Surfaces… they’re better than a summer vacation.
