Emerging Toronto singer/songwriter, Jayde, confronts the inevitable pain of a love gone cold in somber new single “Sad AF.”
The mellow, dark-pop track resembles a heartbreak lullaby as Jayde pulls the shiny facade back, revealing a broken and drawn-out relationship holding on by a thread. By facing her true feelings, she is led to healing through acceptance.
“When you start drifting apart from someone, you start going out to things without them and a bunch of people ask you “Oh, where is so and so”… so you make it seem like everything is great when in reality you’re not talking as much as you used to and you’re really just going through the motions but you’re both too afraid to let it go. It’s a really emotionally taxing place to be in your relationship,” Jayde explains.
Jayde began songwriting at the age of twelve and has been working on perfecting her sonic identity since. In 2018, Jayde peaked the interest of several A-List artists such as Finneas, Bishop Briggs and Jessie Reyez for both covers and her original music.
The unbridled singer/songwriter has landed on Spotify’s editorial playlists for New Music Friday, Indie Pop Chillout, New Music Now, Fresh Finds and Just Vibing, as well as several Amazon Music playlists.
More recently in 2019, Jayde landed a spot on Canadian television show, The Launch. Jayde was the runner up on her episode “I Got You” where she was mentored by Canadian icon Jann Arden, as well as producer Shaun Frank (The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Ashe), singer-songwriter Marie Mai, and Scott Borchetta (Big Machine Records).
