New York, NY – R&B, Funk and Pop sextet, Duwendé premiered the video for their sultry, soulful R&B track, “Dangerous,” via Bring Back Soul Music. The video is the first single from their forthcoming LP, due in early 2021.
Shot on location in Brooklyn, the video for “Dangerous” finds the six singers bathed in purple and white ambient light and spotlights the co-lead vocals of J. Aaron Boykin and Derrick Leonárd who croon, “I can get a little dangerous…”as both a promise and a provocative warning.
“From a production standpoint, this song is meant to be a throwback to old 90’s R&B songs that we grew up listening to,” says Duwendé. “We tried to add a modern flair as well to reflect the style of the group, but we still wanted to pay homage to the greats that we loved growing up.”
The song is performed without the use of any analogue or digital instruments and features only the voices of the band members. In addition to Boykin and Leonárd, Duwendé consists of Abbey Janes (soprano), Tomás Cruz (tenor), Edward Chung (vocal percussion) and David Lane (bass).
Duwendé (Doo-WEN-day) is a six-person a cappella band best known for their fiercely original, bass-and-beatbox-driven funk/pop style of music.
