Nashville based rock n’ roll group, 7Descent released their electrifying new single “Southwest Chief” on all streaming & download platforms.
“’Southwest Chief’ is actually an Amtrak Train that I would take from Santa Ana, California to New Mexico once a year. My mentor would purchase a private suite for me on the train. I remember all the beautiful American landscapes I journeyed through. The song weaves together my nostalgia from that experience and snippets of my real life as well. Ultimately, the song is about the moments that define us.” – 7Descent
Resembling artists such as Judas Priest, Poison and Black Sabbath, 7Descent’s newest single “Southwest Chief” is nothing short of a true power ballad. The lyrics speak about moments that define us and the nostalgia they bring.
For vocalist and guitarist Milo, “Southwest Chief ” was an Amtrak Train that helped him journey to see many American landscapes from New Mexico to California. The lyrics “Nobody’s coming to the rescue, Nobody’s gonna be there to hold your hand” help show the sense of lonesome travel on this train, and are amplified by his powerful vocals.
The song begins with an ethereal opening lead by the strumming of an acoustic guitar. The instrumentals quickly transition into a driving tempo filled with heavy drums and electrifying guitar. The instrumentals and vocals resemble an 80’s power ballad, and will have you headbanging throughout.
Whether you’re looking to scream at the top of your lungs about being an outcast, or thinking about past feelings, “Southwest Chief” is a rock n’ roll anthem you won’t want to miss.
