Following the pattern of luscious dreams that happen whilst our minds are waiting to receive the next signal, Estonian duo Vera Vice float into the limelight with the haunting new single “Collecting Dreams.”
“This is a moon-struck tale about the daydreams that are yearning to come alive,” says Helen Västrik, one half of the duo. “The ever so enchanting blue moon lures the protagonist along, allowing even the wildest dreams to take over.”
Written by Vera Vice, the new track is mixed by an acclaimed avant-pop auteur Mart Avi. The song is also mastered by Martin Kikas at Ö Studio.
Vera Vice is an audiovisual duo of Helen Västrik and Ave Vellesalu whose trademark mix of velvety dream pop and phantasmagorical poetry can be described as the “field recordings” of sounds and images of the subconscious.
This meticulously detailed yet somewhat dislocated approach is also apparent in their music videos and visuals. They combine the characteristics of high fashion ads and surrealistic 20th Century photography.
Following the release of their second LP Forget Me Not in spring 2022, Vera Vice have performed at notable music festivals across Europe. From Tallinn Music Week (EE), MENT Ljubljana (SI) and Way Out West (SE). They participated in the international gender parity program Keychange and the sound residency in WORM Rotterdam. They will represent Estonian talent at the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival in Groningen, Netherlands on 19th January 2023.
“Collecting Dreams” is out on 16th November on digital platforms
