Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds have just dropped a stunning new music video for their single “New Story”. The Michigan-based band has gained a reputation for their eclectic sound that blends folk, rock, and world music, and their latest video is no exception.
The music video for “New Story” is a visual masterpiece, featuring breathtaking cinematography and choreography that perfectly captures the song’s emotional depth. The video was directed by Toko Shiiki.
“This song tells an important story,” says Erin. “I wanted to create a video that would capture the message of the song, using the imagery of books – written words, ink and paper as metaphors for the way that thoughts and feelings behave, sticking to us, and becoming over time like a costume with which we project a false sense of ourselves outward to the world. As the video unfolds it becomes clear that we can free ourselves of our old, sad story in the same way that we shed layers and layers of clothing (in this case a complex dress made of newspaper) to get down to the actual truth of who we are underneath. Once that flesh-covered, living, breathing core of truth is revealed as the True Self there is a rebirth, a baptism, a blank page, waiting to be written.”
“New Story” is the perfect showcase for Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds’ unique sound and undeniable talent. The band has been creating music together for over 15 years.
“We’re so excited to share this new music video with our fans,” says Erin. “It’s a visual representation of a personal revolution. I hope it can be both relatable and inspirational to those who watch it.”
“New Story” is available now on all major streaming platforms. The music video can be viewed on the band’s YouTube channel.
