LOS ANGELES, April 25, 2018 – American songstress Fia NyXX will release her debut music video for the emotional ballad “Maybe Just Love Me” on June 1, 2018. The video is following the March 23 release of her first solo EP, “Everything Girl,” celebrated with a sold out party at The Mint in Los Angeles on March 29, 2018. “Maybe Just Love Me” will be premiered on June 1 (location TBA) and screened at Street Food Cinema’s 75th Anniversary of Casablanca.
“Maybe Just Love Me” was filmed at various locations in Los Angeles and Colorado and includes a uniquely choreographed dance scene on two moving escalators at the Colorado Convention Center. As an independent artist, Fia had over 700 Los Angeles dancers audition for the video. A project that was quoted to cost $75-100k, was completed in under $10k.
The vision for “Maybe Just Love Me” came to Fia NyXX in a dream in 2011.
“Seven years later, as I am sitting in the studio, listening to the final mastered version of ‘Maybe Just Love Me,’ and it strikes me hard. I dug out my old journal and was shocked. With no intention whatsoever of creating this song for this particular video, it matched lyric for scene…perfectly,” said Fia NyXX.
The video was screened at a sold out, private showing on March 25, 2018 at the Clocktower Cabaret in Denver, Colo. The unpredictable plot twist ensured there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
“I created this video to evoke raw emotion, as it is so deeply relevant to the love that the world desperately needs right now. The feelings we captured on camera are real. The laughs, real. The tears? Also real,” said Fia NyXX.
The Fia NyXX sound adds a unique flair to pop music paying tribute to the soulful sounds of the Motown era. Her emotionally-rich lyrics are heavily influenced by the indulgent and passionate culture of the South, complimented with a masterful vision for storytelling and larger-than-life performances. Fia NyXX’s music embodies a fresh, electrifying sound that molds her tracks with an unexpected depth and timelessness.
Fia’s writing and production team include industry power houses Brian Malouf (Michael Jackson, Queen, Madonna), Emmy-Winning producer/composer Lance Bendiksen (Sarah McLachlan, The Fray), Matt Tryba (One Republic, The Fray) and the famed Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section “The Swampers.”
A veteran in the industry, Fia NyXX has toured the United States and Asia, as part of the girl group ‘SHE.’ ‘Everything Girl,’ was her first solo record release.
“Maybe Just Love Me” will be available on www.FiaNyXX.com and YouTube on June 1, 2018 and screened at Street Food Cinema’s 75th Anniversary of Casablanca on August 18, 2018. Summer tour dates soon to be announced.
