New York, New York (May 11th, 2018) – Today, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter BJ The Chicago Kid releases The Opening Ceremony. The collection of three includes “Going Once, Going Twice”, “Nothing Into Something”, and “Rather Be With You”. The three new tracks will appear on BJ’s forthcoming sophomore album, which will be released later this year via Motown Records.

Currently, BJ The Chicago Kid is set to hit the road with Ro James on their joint “The R&B Tour” starting in Atlanta on May 15th. The tour will also make stops in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and ending in Los Angeles on May 27th.
BJ The Chicago Kid’s debut album, In My Mind received a plethora of praise from The New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Noisey, Vibe, Vice and Ebony among others. He was requested to sing alongside Marvin Gaye’s recorded vocals in the iconic “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye’s estate itself. BJ even excelled at singing one of the most difficult songs to sing –the national anthem- for former President Obama’s farewell speech. The dynamic singer has amassed over 100 million streams and collaborated with Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Solange, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Chance The Rapper and more.
