NASHVILLE, Tennessee— “While Nashville is still best known for country, it has a pop scene that amasses more converts every day. At 16, Brigetta moved to Nashville to pursue music, quickly signing a publishing deal with Prescription Songs. Originally performing in the duo, Truitt, Brigetta is now looking to bring her solo work to light. At 19, she is ready to bring her stories center stage,” The 405’s Ian Hays wrote on Thursday. “The minimalist beats and bubbling bass line will have you dancing, keeping the song aloof and unbothered. So, check out Brigetta’s debut single, ‘Tic Tac Toe,’ as you reevaluate how you’re handling those texts with your local crush.”
The pop culture staple premiered the bouncy new track yesterday, highlighting a solo turn in the spotlight for the Music City-based singer-songwriter.
Formerly one half of the namesake duo Truitt, Brigetta, alongside her brother, Brett, built a steady following for themselves, amassing over 2 million Spotify streams organically. But nowadays, she aims to share her own unique brand of catchy, minimalist pop with a side of catharsis.
“It’s exciting to start the process of something bigger,” Brigetta admits. “Being so enthralled by music at such an early age allowed me to be more capable of expressing my emotions, and I hope I can encourage that in others. I want to be an outlet for other people, just like my idols were for me.”
“Tic Tac Toe” is now available via SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and Google Play.
