Cherryade are back with a… ‘Bang. Pop. Go Worldwide.’, the first single from their upcoming ‘Sinking Ship’ EP. Having premiered on Billboard Pride, the explosive empowerment anthem takes their signature assertive style in a more dance orientated direction, blending cowbells and sirens to create the perfect storm. It also sees them taking back control of their artistic direction, designing the artwork and writing and producing the song themselves with some add. prod. magic from John Foyle (FKA Twigs, Years & Years).
Speaking on the song, Ella says: “We’ve had a pretty sh*tty year being messed around by some notable American managers who made a lot of fake promises, so after wasting our time we wrote this as a big f**k you anthem. It’s a fun party song, but it’s all about not relying on anyone else.”
Alex says: “It’s the first time we’ve really felt comfortable producing ourselves and featuring my vocals, and in a strange way being messed around has given us a lot more confidence creatively.”
The new single builds on their previous release ‘Shout Loud’, which amassed a string of support from MTV, Beats1, Spotify’s New Music Friday, Triple J, PRIDE.com and more. With their sound developing from drunken teenage GarageBand demos to fully fledged left field pop bangers, Cherryade have worked with the likes of Ant Whiting (M.I.A., John Newman), Xenomania (Girls Aloud) and John Foyle (FKA Twigs, Years & Years).
