“Forbidden words,” an agonizing ballad about trying to cope with losing a lover to someone else.
Montreal Singer-Songwriter ‘Chewii‘ debuts her heart-wrenching single “Forbidden Words.”
Chewii collaborated with Govales — her long-time musical partner and boyfriend —on the production. The song was released at midnight on June 14th 2019, across digital music platforms via Independent label G SPOT Recordings.
Chewii spent the majority of 2018 writing for Universal Music Group artists as part of a Joint Venture her label G SPOT Recordings formed with Grammy Award Winning Producers Cool & Dre. During the term she co-wrote a Billboard charting song by Roc Nation artist Angelica Vila entitled “More In The Morning.”
On her new single Chewii says, “I’m so excited for everyone to hear ‘Forbidden Words’ which I wrote in Miami last year. For me it bottles a moment where I felt so vulnerable about possibly losing the person I love the most. I’m most honest and vulnerable when I write, and for me the hardest thing to open up about is being hurt in love.”
The R&B-influenced track shows off Chewii’s sultry vocals and the maturity and growth so apparently displayed in her graceful songwriting style. Her debut single released last year, “PuNoni” which was produced by powerhouse music producer Kaytranada, propelled Chewii into the limelight as a new Canadian solo artist.
Chewii will release two additional songs in the of Summer 2019 which will all be accompanied by visuals and will be included in a short-film set to premiere August 20, 2019 and will feature original music by Chewii & Govales.
