Independent rock label Renaissance Records U.S. is pleased to announce the signing of Belgian melodic rock band CMON CMON.
CMON CMON is composed of members Jorrit Hermans, Steven Omblets, and Michel Becx. The trio originally came together two decades ago as college students. After a decade apart, the band is ready to release their debut album with Renaissance Records U.S., now with a different approach to their music and style.
Renaissance Records U.S. has been in business for 27 years and is in the process of bringing on fresh talent to their repertoire. After getting to know the band members and discussing their vision, the label has agreed to work with the band to release the album on CD, vinyl, and in digital format.
CMON CMON already released three tracks in 2022 exclusively in Europe. “Say What It Means”, “The Summers We Missed”, and “Waiting” were made with Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling producer Alex Newport, under the management of Stephen Budd.
“With CMON CMON we wrote and recorded the debut album we always wanted to make,” says Hermans.
“We took our love for jangly guitars and harmony-soaked melodic rock and turned that into 11 songs that capture our laid-back spirit and twisted tales of life with a crack in it.
This album is an addictive, dreamy storytelling experience and we’re proud we’ve made what we were missing on the radio.”
Renaissance plans to work with the band to expand their audience internationally and distribute their physical and digital products to their fans, old and new.
“We’re beyond excited to have been signed by Renaissance Records for all the right reasons,” continues Hermans.
“At Renaissance, we find ourselves surrounded and empowered by a team that shares our passion for powerpop music and true, sincere, creative songwriting. Together we’re in for the long run and look forward to share our debut album with the world.”
