Rising singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Cris Cab today releases Diamonds, his five-track genre-bending EP that fuses Latin music with contemporary pop and urban sounds. Diamonds is available now on all digital streaming platforms worldwide via Epic Germany/Sony Music Germany.
To coincide with this announcement, Cab also released the official music video for his latest single “Sorry,” which he co-wrote and co-produced.
In addition to “Sorry,” Diamonds also features Cab’s major 2018 hit “Just Wanna Love You” featuring Latin superstar J Balvin, which has since amassed 25 million worldwide streams and propelled Cab onto Spotify’s Pop Rising, Apple Music’s Breaking Latino, and YouTube’s Latin Pop Before It Breaks playlists. The EP also includes “Laurent Perrier” featuring Latin hip-hop star Farruko–with production by Kore–and two brand new songs: title track “Diamonds” and “Rush” featuring production by Herve Pagez (Charli XCX, Major Lazer) and Di Genius (Drake, Shakira, Nelly Furtado) respectively.
At just 26 years old, Cris Cab has accomplished more in the world of music than most artists could ever dream. He has hit the top of the charts, won awards, collaborated with some of the biggest names in all of music, and toured the world playing in arenas, festivals, and clubs. Yet, he’s somehow still just getting started.
Born to Cuban parents in Miami, Cris fell in love with his craft at a very young age, gaining inspiration and access to music, sounds, and different flavors of rhythm from the streets of his home city. It was his first demos that he recorded at just 15 years of age that grabbed the attention of one of the most influential figures in pop culture–Pharrell Williams. Connecting with an artist of his caliber changed Cris’ life forever. Media outlets like Billboard and Perez Hilton began featuring the young talent at the same time, propelling his studio efforts, which included a single featuring Wyclef Jean.
As a protégé of Pharrell, Cris has mastered his craft while working alongside some of the game’s brightest stars. Artists like Big Sean, Pitbull, Mike Posner and B.O.B would also contribute to Cab’s songs. In 2015, he even released a re-edition of Sting’s famous “Englishman In New York,” which found its way onto the charts.
It was the 2014 single “Liar Liar,” however, that catapulted Cris into the limelight. With lyrics by Pharrell, the song became an international smash, charting in the Top 10 of 42 countries worldwide and peaking at #9 on the Worldwide Top 40 Airplay Chart, and peaking at #1 in France and Israel, #2 in Germany, and #3 in Italy and Holland. The record was certified Gold in Germany and Switzerland and earned Platinum sales in Italy. Meanwhile, the video for the song would go on to accumulate close to 63 million YouTube views with over 52 million streams on Spotify alone.
Having spent the bulk of his time between releases in the studio, 2019 is bound to catapult Cris Cab to new heights with the release of his eagerly awaited Diamonds EP.
