Lauren Balthrop is a singer-songwriter from Nashville (by way of Alabama). She released her debut album, This Time Around, exactly one year ago, and since then she’s been on the road with Kevin Morby, singing back-up. Lauren’s extraordinary voice is the first thing you’ll notice about her music; rich in dark sonic beauty, and above all, devilishly playful.
LISTEN TO “YOUR TIME WILL COME”
Today Balthrop has shared her first new single in a year, called “Your Time Will Come.” The track was recorded live at The Creamery Studios in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and was produced by Balthrop and Pete Lalish (Lucius). It features Balthop on guitar, keys, and vocals; Lalish on electric guitar; Jesske Hume on electric bass; and Jason Bemis Lawrence on drums.
“Your Time Will Come” is a song that encourages hope—harnessing it and using it to propel you forward into the future.
Balthrop has also sung back-up for Bob Weir, Benjamin Booker, and Elizabeth & the Catapult, and she was also 1/3 of the excellent neo-girl-group Bandana Splits (with Dawn Landes and Annie Nero).
