Today, Capitol Records released Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent Extended Edition featuring three new songs. Available here, the release comes on the heels of news that his breakthrough hit “Someone You Loved” has been nominated for a GRAMMY Award in the prestigious Song of the Year category.
After topping the U.K. Official Singles chart for a nearly unprecedented seven weeks, the single has held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, marking the first No. 1 single from a debut U.K. artist on the tally since February 2016. In addition, “Someone You Loved” has topped the U.S. Top 40 Radio chart for four consecutive weeks, spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Hot AC Radio chart and topped the U.S. Shazam chart for eleven weeks running, making it the longest running consecutive #1 on the US chart this year. A global smash, “Someone You Loved” is certified Platinum or greater in a total of 20 countries, including the U.S., where it has now earned over three million equivalent song units. Worldwide streams of the track are approaching two billion.
Capaldi’s debut album, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, is the fastest selling U.K. debut of 2019 with 90,000 albums sold in the first week.
