Music is Art is proud to present: Good Neighbors (Vol. 2), a seventeen-person co-write album presented as part of our WNY Music Industry Alliance and our coinciding Songwriter Peer Group.
The first volume (available on streaming services) was a pandemic-born “song swap” project among twelve of our members, and we are so proud of how this endeavor has grown in the midst of our world’s challenges.
These seventeen supremely talented songwriters, along with a collection of Buffalo’s top-tier musicians and industry pros, have crafted a powerful collaborative work of art, proving once again that Buffalo is indeed the City of Good Neighbors.
Thanks to a grant from New York State Council on the Arts, we were able to fund a full-scale production for Volume 2. The album was produced and arranged by renowned bassist and producer RiShon Odel, engineered by Marc Hunt at GCR Audio, and features instrumental work by Josh English, Rod Bonner, Tim Webb, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
In an effort to tell this unique story of community and collaboration, we’ve hired Northern City Productions to film a documentary of the entire process.
