“Be Someone” is a symphonic folk track released today from Pierce Alexander, an artist from Charleston, SC.
The track comes via the upcoming album ‘The Minutehand,’ out on February 11th, presenting a lush and evocative song cycle in which the narrator explores themes of unexpected separation, addiction, and feeling trapped by the confines of early adult life.
“Be Someone” is a song about growing with another person. “The song was inspired by my own growth and longing to be a better version of myself,” Alexander says. “It came to me one day as I was stopped at an intersection looking down a familiar street where I’d spent a great deal of time.”
The second single off Pierce Alexander’s upcoming album, “Be Someone” represents the bittersweet wave of nostalgia that can occur when you are forced to notice the passage of time. In some ways, you miss the innocence but in other ways, you are glad to be in a better place with your life.
