Los Angeles, CA. – Robby Krieger, guitarist of the ‘60s rock band “The Doors” has released an album of unreleased cuts from his 1979 band “Red Shift”.
In 1978, Doors fan Mack Mckenzie knocked on Robby Krieger’s door with a demo tape in hand, hoping Robby might fulfill a dream and collaborate with him. After listening to the demo, Robby agreed and recruited friends Arthur Barrow (Frank Zappa), Vinnie Colaiuta and Don Poncher to be in a short-lived band called “Red Shift”. They cut seven tracks in the studio, had a few gigs in Los Angeles, and for unknown reasons, “Red Shift” disbanded.
Forty years later, we can now enjoy this time capsule of the emerging punk scene in Los Angeles.
