The newest installment in Crywolf‘s OBLIVION [Reimagined] series comes from Floridian producer SWARM. The hyper-dark, metal-influenced electronic artist has put his touch on “QUIXØTE,” a fan-favorite from Crywolf’s studio album widow [OBLIVION pt. 1].
Uniting heavy synths with aggressive percussion, SWARM lays down an emotionally charged beat under Crywolf gentle vocals on the new “QUIXØTE” reimagining, creating a jarring yet bewitching dichotomy of sound. On his decision to remix this song in particular, SWARM writes, “there is something about ‘QUIXØTE’ in particular that is deeply haunting to me. I could feel my own emotions in every aspect of it, from the cathartic atmosphere to the painfully raw lyrics. In my re-imagination, I wanted to bring that psychological grit to light in a more aggressive way by using my own background in metal and industrial music.”
The OBLIVION [Reimagined] series will be rolling out over the next couple of months with revamped versions of tracks from the widow [OBLIVION pt. 1] album. SWARM’S remix of “QUIXØTE” joins the recent remixes from Mielo (“DRIP“) and LEViT∆TE (“ULTRAVIOLENT Pt. II“). Stay tuned for more.
