Under the Violet moniker, Sydney’s Jessica Meier produces textured, cinematic pop that is consistently thought-provoking.

“BOXES/HOUSES is about living in circles, always between walls and constantly existing within the confines of societies metaphorical boxes. Through this song I explore the mundane, repetitive and often numb realities of the human condition.”
Her latest single ‘BOXES/HOUSES’ was recorded by Violet and producer Alex Middleton in a small shed in Lithgow, a location Violet revisited in the equally eerie music video, a collaboration with award winning Sydney film-maker Jessica Vincenza.

Violet is the solo-project of 22 year-old Sydney musician & sound designer Jessica Meier. Her previous singles ‘Ivory’ and ‘(wo)man’ were both added to rotation on triple j unearthed and received praise from FBi Radio, 4ZZZ, RTRFM, 2SER and other community stations across the country.
Headlining sold out, all female show HONEY. and featuring on lineups with the likes of Georgia Mulligan, Violet’s live performance submerges the audience into a world that is moody and haunting.
Aside from her solo-project, Jessica also spends time designing sound in many short films, including ‘Apartment Block No.10’ (TWT Excellence Prize Winner) which is currently being exhibited at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts.
